Obituary of Marian Gertrude Gallant

The passing of Marian Gertrude Gallant of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late J. Eloi Gallant, occurred on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on July 30, 1929 in Zionville, NB, she was a daughter of the late William and Sadie (Stewart) Nicholls.  Marian enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and baking. 

Marian is survived by her children, Stephen Finnamore (Janice) of Blackville, NB, Maxine Pirie of Gladwyn, NB, Stewart Finnamore of Fredericton, NB, Leslie Finnamore (Beryl), Allan Finnamore (Penny) and Bruce Finnamore (Sharon) all of Fredericton, NB; son-in-law Joe Spencer of Lincoln, NB; step daughter, Marie Mitchell of Restigouche, QC; sisters-in-law, Pat Stewart of Alberta and Alice Dysart of Moncton, NB; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Marian was predeceased by her first husband, Percy Finnamore; infant son, Sterling; daughter, Mary Jean Spencer; sister, Gladys; brothers, Kenneth, Theodore and Richard; son-in-law Willie Pirie; and daughter-in-law, Jeannette Finnamore.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 7-9 pm.  The Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1 pm with Rev. Bob Jones officiating.  Pallbearers for the service will be Scott Finnamore, Joseph Spencer, Blake Finnamore, Robert Finnamore, David Finnamore and Kenny Green.  Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery.  For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
