Obituary of Bill Moss

The passing of William Thomas Moss of Cross Creek, NB, husband of the late Donna (Scott) Moss, occurred on November 27, 2023 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 20, 1939 in Cross Creek, NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Griffin) Moss.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Anne Marie Spencer (Gary) of Stanley, NB and Tammy Dorrington (Jack) of Saint John, NB; son, Thomas Moss of Taymouth, NB; sisters, Betty MacGillivray of Fredericton, NB and Rosemary Ingraham of Arrowood, AB; grandchildren, Ryan, Lesley, Danielle, Allison, Todd and Shane; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his, sister Marie Hoffman.

Dad was a machinist by trade. He held many positions over the years as a machinist, sawyer and a millwright. He was a perfectionist and was well respected in his profession. He had a love and talent for woodworking and crafted many pieces of furniture, cabinetry and bowls. Many of us are fortunate to have some of his work in our homes. Mom and Dad lived on the family farm in Cross Creek along with our grandparents. Dad raised cattle and other livestock, had beautiful vegetable and flower gardens as well as being known for their beautiful Blueberry U-pick operations. Dad and Mom loved to travel and made many trips out West to visit family, bus tours throughout Canada and the US, a Caribbean cruise and family vacations in the summer. Dad was a lifelong member of the Anglican Parish of Stanley where he was active on the Vestry, the Anglican Men’s group and the many fundraising breakfasts and suppers throughout the years. Always willing to lend a helping hand.

We want to extend a special thank you to the Staff of the Farraline Home in Fredericton where Dad was a resident the last few months. Your kindness and care for Dad will not be forgotten.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday December 3, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Cross Creek, NB on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 2 pm with Father Nicholas Saulnier officiating. Interment will take place in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, following the service.
