Obituary of Darrell Winston Fowler

Darrell peacefully passed away with his family by his side at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Darrell was born in Holtville, NB, the son of the late Fred and Thelma Fowler.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Shanks); his sons, Craig Fowler (Sarah) of Ontario, Chris Fowler (Rebecca) of Fredericton; step-children, Kathy Brewer (Terry) of Zealand, Shelley Coyle of Durham Bridge, Jeffrey Coyle (Alison) of Fort McMurray; siblings, John Fowler (Gertie), Owen Fowler (Debbie), James Fowler (Glenna), Nelson Fowler (Julie), Ethel Spencer (Terry), Helena Samnsoff (Nick); grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Darrell was predeceased by his siblings, Eva (Orville), Calvin (Margaret), Allan (Margaret), Freda Hood (Doug), Geraldine Ellery (Rod); infant siblings, Patsy and David; nephews, William and Jeremy.

Darrell worked in the construction field his whole life, working around the province. He has been, for the past 24 years, a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 1386 Branch Union, Fredericton, NB.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. At his request, there will be no public services, with his ashes being spread by his family at the locations he had requested. Friends and family are invited to visit at his residence, 27 Phail Road, Durham Bridge, NB for an informal Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 1 to 4 pm. The family would like to thank Dr. Cameron and the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit at the DECRH for their care. Remembrances can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
