Floyd Warren Hunter “Tab” passed on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in his 92nd year. Son of the late Robert and Jessie (Astle) Hunter, Floyd was predeceased by brothers, Nelson, Elwood, Scott, Reginald, Donald and Neil; sisters, Maxine Conroy and Ruth Price. Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Isabel Hunter; daughters, Valerie Yantha, Susan Boisclair (André) and Patricia Weir (Bob). Floyd was very proud of his grandchildren, Sabrina Mellroy (Trevor), Robert Yantha, Yves Boisclair (Shanon), Jessie Boisclair, Meagan Walsh (Adam) and Michael Weir. Floyd is also survived by nine great grand children on whom he constantly doted.

Floyd began his work life as a logger and grew tired of the long hours and snow down the back of his neck so he headed for the recruiting centre where he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (RCHA) serving 30 years and proudly retiring as a Master Bombardier. Floyd talked about how much he enjoyed Basic Training where he was able to sleep in and got as much excellent food as he could eat. He couldn't understand why every one was being so difficult. Floyd was, for many years, an active member and past President of the Lion's Club of Canada both in Petawawa and Oromocto.

Floyd was also an active and loyal member of the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Oromocto where he served for many years as a church Warden with his good friend Eugene Whelan. Eugene passed recently and Floyd dearly missed him.

Floyd enjoyed his family and could not pass an opportunity to tease and rough house with the grand children. He loved to cook outstanding meals for his family and friends. His love, humour and meals will be dearly missed.

Services will be held at the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 60 Broad Road, Oromocto, NB on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11am with Father Stephen Harnish officiating, assisted by Rev. Canon Walter Williams. The service will also be available at www.yorkfh.com (link at the top of the obituary). There will be a small reception at the Anglican Church Hall from 10 – 10:45am, all are welcomed. Interment will follow at the Astle Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Oromocto would be greatly appreciated by the family. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
