Obituary of Harold William Curley
Harold William Curley, a resident of Doaktown, NB, and beloved husband of Joan Gail (Clowater) Curley, passed away on November 1, 2023, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 14, 1933, in Chipman, NB, Harold was the son of the late Ruby (Storey) and Harold Curley while also spending many years in Doaktown under the care of Amy Carr.
At the tender age of 19, immediately following high school, Harold enlisted in the Army, bravely serving in the Korean War after completing basic training. Upon his return, he pursued his passion for forestry, attending Forestry School and eventually becoming a dedicated Forest Ranger. His career then led him to Millwork and Logging.
Harold's heart belonged to nature, and he cherished walks through the woods with his wife. Harold was known for his love of animals and the herd of deer that frequented his back yard for everyone to see and enjoy. An avid history enthusiast, he delighted in sharing stories of his life and the world with his grandchildren. His fingers found harmony on the guitar and fiddle, and he proudly held membership in the Knights of Columbus.
Survived by his loving wife, Joan Gail Curley, Harold leaves behind his son, Harold Curley Jr. (Shirley); daughter, Lana Forbes (Ross); grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Samuel, and Lindsay Forbes. Sadly, he was predeceased by his grandchild, Matthew Forbes, and siblings Winnifred, Madeline, and Connie.
Interment details will be announced at a later date. For those inclined, remembrances can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of one's choice. Personal condolences may be shared at www.yorkfh.com.
In Loving Memory
