HACHEY, JENNIFER ANN

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the unexpected passing of Jennifer Ann Hachey (Nicholson) of Douglas, NB, wife of Daniel Hachey. It occurred peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Born on September 7, 1989 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of Daniel and Barbara (Williams) Nicholson.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jennifer is survived by children, Isabelle Elizabeth and Henry Kenneth; sister, Kathleen Nicholson; brother, Gregory Nicholson (Ali Kaminskas); father and mother in law, Dennis and Cheryl Hachey; brother in law, Andrew Hachey (Nicole) and their children, Ryder, Evelyn and Sawyer; sister in law, Erin Hachey; grandparents, James Nicholson and Myles Williams (Frances); nieces and nephews, Ayden Pocha, Ava Pocha, Ashton Nicholson and Abbie Nicholson; and her cats, Chloe and Lenny.

Jennifer was predeceased by her grandmother, Betty Nicholson.

Jen loved to spend time with her family, especially her kids. She had a special place in her heart for Maquapit lake, the ocean breeze of Northport, NS and any sandy beach, no matter the location. Jen truly saw the best in everyone and always made sure that they were having the best time. Her smile could light up a room. Her birthday parties for Henry and Isabelle always went above and beyond. Jen first started on skis at 2 years old and it quickly became one of her passions. She had many happy days on the hill at Crabbe Mountain where she spent the majority of her winter weekends. The Nicholsons had yearly seasonal passes and frequently went on family ski trips. She had finally returned to her hometown of Fredericton, settled into her dream home and was looking forward to introducing her kids to her passion. She was a respected and seasoned Environmental Biologist and loved her job. After starting as a student during the summer break from UNB in 2008, 15 years later, she had recently achieved Lead of the Atlantic provinces in Ecological & Permitting Services with the team under her that she always wanted. She touched so many lives and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 from 4-7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T.
