Obituary of Perley Irvine Morehouse

The passing of Perley Irvine Morehouse of Doaktown, NB occurred on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Hospice House Fredericton. Born in Doaktown on October 18, 1936, he was the son of the late Frank Morehouse and Eunice Gillespie. Perley was the maintenance manager of water and sewer for the Village of Doaktown. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Perley is survived by his wife, Effie Colford; children, Ricky (Cathy) Morehouse of Miramichi, Stephen Morehouse of Fredericton, Trevor (Shawna) Morehouse of Doaktown, Lorri Anne (Brian Watson) Morehouse of Doaktown; grandchildren, Graham (Jenny), Keri Lynn, Miranda, Jillian, RJ, Samantha and Amie; great-grandchildren, Leah, Abby Lee, Aurora, Marcus, Graceland, Quinn and Violet; sisters, Margaret (Bill) Field of Fredericton, Delores Jones of Scotsburn, NS; sister-in-law, Dodie Morehouse of Prince George, BC; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Perley was predeceased by his sisters, Isabelle (Willie) Hovey and Doreen “Dodie” Pond; brothers, Darrell and Donald (Mary) Morehouse; daughter-in-law, Debbie Morehouse; brother-in-law, Stan Jones.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2 pm with Rev. Mike Burzek officiating. Interment will be in the Doaktown Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery on South Road. Remembrances can be made in Perley’s memory to Hospice Fredericton and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
