Obituary of William Herbert Fowler

FOWLER, WILLIAM “BILLY” HERBERT

The passing of William “Billy” Herbert Fowler of Holtville, NB, occurred on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Veteran’s Health Unit in Fredericton, NB.  Born on April 14, 1955 in Holtville, NB, he was the son of the late Russell and Eva Fowler. Billy worked as a Gatekeeper at the Dungarvon Gate. 

Billy is survived by his sisters, Judy Astle of Astle, Linda Fowler (Don Booker) of Fredericton; brothers, David Fowler (Sharon) of Holtville, Willard "Dudge" Fowler (Lorrie) of Holtville; several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, Billy was predeceased by his sister, Wendy Loiselle; step father, Orville Pond; and brothers in law, Kendell Astle, Guy Loiselle 

 Billy had a great love for his family and having his nieces and nephews around always put a smile on his face.  Always had a piece of candy or a stick of gum for them to enjoy. He had a heart of gold and a generous soul. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and quite often be found in his woodpile splitting firewood. He loved to dance and was so light on his feet, he was the life of many camp parties.  He lives to play cribbage and delighted in shaking a little skunk at you when you didn’t make it over that skunk line.  Billy had a hearty laugh that came from his toes up.  Billy will be missed.  “til we meet on that beautiful shore”

A Memorial Service will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian Curtis officiating.  Interment will take place in Cameron Hill Cemetery, Holtville. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of the DVA Priestman Unit for the wonderful care and friendship provided during Billy’s stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
