HICKEY, RAYMOND "RAY" JERRY

 

The passing of Raymond Jerry Hickey of Tay Creek, NB, occurred on September 30, 2023 at his home in Tay Creek, NB.  Born on August 20, 1948 in Fredericton, NB,  he was the son of Alfreda "Freda" (MacKinnon) and the late Jeremiah Hickey. Raymond dedicated many years of service as a Civil Servant for the Federal Government, particularly within the Military for Veterans Affairs. He was a devout member of Sterling United Church in Tay Creek, NB, and found joy in various hobbies such as gardening, reading, and his deep affection for animals.

 

In addition to his mother, Raymond is survived by his sister, Margaret Hickey; five nieces and nephews; several grand nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Raymond was predeceased by his brother, James Hickey.
 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, Ocotober 7, 2023 from 1 to 2 pm, the Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating. Interment to follow at Sterling United Church Cemetery, Tay Creek, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Fredericton SPCA or to a charity of the donor's choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
