Please share a memory of Allan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The passing of Allan Mason of Fredericton, NB, husband of Sonia (Beck) Mason, occurred on September 24, 2023. Born on January 1, 1952 in La Tuque, QC, he was the son of the late Mariette Gervais and Ellery Mason. A devout Roman Catholic, Allan was an inspiration to those around him. His faith helped him maintain an optimistic outlook on life, despite several health issues including being diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic at age 13, and a life-altering accident that left him disabled in his early 50s. He was a familiar face at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, and more recently could be found at St. Anthony's Parish. He lived for his summers in the sun at Island View Campground with his friends in Bayside, New Brunswick. Prior to his accident, he enjoyed carpentry and playing bridge. He was an extremely proud father, grandfather, and husband.

In addition to his wife, Allan is survived by his children, Penelope (Cory), Allan Jr. (Meaghan) and Rebecca; grandchildren, Madeline, Heath, Victor, and James "JJ"; brothers, David Mason, Emile Miller, Jaques Miller, and Pierre Miller; several nieces and nephews and his special companion, his dog Luigi. Besides his parents, Allan was predeceased by his son, James Mason. Special thanks to Fathers MacGowan, Knox, and Maria for spiritual support and prayers throughout many years.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11 am. Internment will take place in St. Anthony's Cemetery. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
