The passing of Margaret Alice Rickard of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Robert Earl Rickard, occurred on August 29, 2023 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital Peggy was predeceased by her sisters, Rena Doherty and Betty Linton; brother Gerald "Sonny" Timms.

 

Born on May 30, 1925 in Derby, NB, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Flora (Russell) Timms.

 

Peggy is survived by her children, Robert "Robby" Rickard of Fredericton, Cheryl "Cherie" Rickard Smith of Burlington and William "Bill" Rickard (Sandy) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Steven (Rebbie) Smith, Cindy Smith, Stephanie (Scott) Joiner, Todd (Susan) Smith, Ashley, Hilary Rickard, Mistie Delorey, and Johnny (Melissa) Rickard; great grandchildren, Samuel, Mitchell, Marica, Jenna, Jason, Julie, Cameron and Alexis; several nieces and nephews.

 

A loving and kind person, and the matriarch of her family, Peggy’s legacy will live on in the numerous lives she touched.

 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery, Fredericton on Friday, September 1 at 7:00 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Meals on Wheels or to a charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
