It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of Brenda Lee Campion on August 26, 2023 at the age of 58. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Lois and Jack Campion; her sister, Kim Pettis (Brian); and brother, Scott Campion (Lesley) as well as her nephew, Brett and nieces, Melissa, Kari and Alex. Also known as “fun Aunt Brenda”, she would take them on many adventures and always gave the best toys for gifts. She loved them as if they were her own children and will remain their biggest fan. Her heart was filled even more with the arrival of Jemma, Owen, Rylie and Spencer.

Born in Kitchener on May 3, 1965, Brenda spent her very young years in Ontario close to her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It was there that the love of the beach began on family vacations to Sauble Beach. Her family then moved to the east settling in Fredericton. Brenda enjoyed her teen years and made some of her longest friendships. She later attended U.N.B and The Computer Training Institute.

For over 15 years, Brenda enjoyed her life in Halifax. She often expressed how much she loved Nova Scotia. She easily created new and lasting friendships. Brenda enjoyed many social activities and exploring the province with her family and friends. Her “happy place” became Summerville Beach.

Brenda worked for 10 years with the Provincial Government Department of Justice. She began as a Communications Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Minister and Deputy Minister and progressed quickly to the Senior Executive Administrative Coordinator in the Deputy Minister’s Office. For the past two years, Brenda worked in the Domestic Violence Initiatives Unit as part of the Office of Strategic Initiatives. She was a key team member and was instrumental in moving projects forward to help save lives and to improve safety for Nova Scotians. She was also supporting the Department’s Inclusion, Diversity and Equity work.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 1pm with Rev. Mary Tingley officiating, a reception will follow the service. The service will also be available at www.yorkfh.com (Link at the top of the obituary). Private family internment will take place at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one of Brenda’s favorite charities, “Hope for Wildlife” Seaforth NS (www.hopeforwildlife.net) or to a charity of your choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com. ‘The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart”
