CALHOUN, MURRAY “ARDEN” 

The passing of Murray “Arden” Calhoun of Douglas, NB, husband of the late Faye L. (Hunter) Calhoun, occurred on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Born on March 9, 1938 in Bloomfield RidgeNB, he was the son of the late Murray and Merle (MacDonald) Calhoun. He was a member of Hiram Lodge (Masonic Lodge); Schriners Club, Telephone Pioneers and United Commercial Travelers. He worked for NBTel for 37 years in various roles including Lineman, Installer, Repairman and various Management positions in Moncton, Saint JohnBathurst and Fredericton

 

Arden is survived by his children, Shelley Tattersall (Greg) of Mactaquac, NB, James “Jamie” Calhoun (Gena) of Quispamsis, NB, and Stephanie Calhoun (Chad Dunn) of Miramichi, NB; grandchildren, Christopher Tattersall, Lindsay Tattersall, Mitchell Calhoun, Bradley Calhoun, Addie Dunn and Aiden Dunn; great granddaughter Emily Goodine; sisters, Marie Hebb (Jack) of Sandbornville, NH, USA, Jacqueline Christen of Bedford, NS, Myrna Green (Mervin) of Hayesville, NB, Roxanne Stewart (Larry) of Fredericton, NB; brothers, James Calhoun (Valerie) of Barrie, ON, Jerry Calhoun (Jane) of Quispamsis, NB; loving companion, Hallie Cameron of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. 

 

Besides his wife and parents, Arden was predeceased by son Joseph Arden Calhoun; grandson Lucas Calhoun; sisters, Izella Reid, Jeannie Calhoun; brothers, Perley Calhoun and Kenneth Calhoun. 

 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside DriveFrederictonNB on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Nashwaaksis United ChurchFrederictonNB at 2 pm. Interment will take place at the Astle Community Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice and would be appreciated by the family.
