Obituary of Johnston Donald O'Donnell

It is with extreme sadness, that the family of Johnston Donald O'Donnell of McNamee NB, announces his passing after a brief illness. Johnston was 41 years old. He was born on October 30th, 1981 Johnston lived at home with his loving mother Sheila, who was by his side and held his hand until the end. Johnston's dad (the late Donald) passed away just two years ago and Johnston told his mom, “I'm going to be with dad”. Early Sunday morning August 6th, 2023 he peacefully left this world to do just that.

Left to mourn and forever miss him are his sister, Melissa; nephew, Catlin (Tiffany); niece, Madison (Dawson); his brother, Turney (Sonya) and nephews, Dalton (Megan) and David (Marissa). As well, Johnston was a great uncle to Jack, Isla, Henry, Garth, and Isaiah. He will also be missed by many extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Johnston dealt with several chronic illnesses in his short life, but loved the time he spent on his four-wheeler, hanging out with his friends, playing cards, especially crib and loved his Tim Hortons coffee.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. Weather pending, a Graveside Service will be held at St. James the Greater Anglican Cemetery in Ludlow, NB, on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 11 am with Rev. Neil Osiowy officiating. In the case of rain, the service will be held in the church. Honoured to stand as Pallbearers will be his cousin, Allison O’Donnell, his uncle, Wilson Beek and friends Joey and Nicole Porter. Following the service, there will be a get-together at the house where everyone is welcome. For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Parish of Ludlow and Blissfield (St. James).
