Obituary of Brigid Elizabeth Grant

Brigid Elizabeth Toole Grant, of Fredericton, NB died on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, in the ICU at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 8, 1938 in Montreal, she was the daughter of Norah Vernon (Barry) Toole and Francis James Toole. Brigid was an artist who taught at UNB and the NB College of Craft and Design; her paintings are in national and international collections. She had been for many years on the board of Canadian Voice of Women for Peace (VOW).

Brigid was predeceased by her husband, Richard Hope Grant, and her brother Barry Toole. She is survived by her daughter, Hannah Grant, of Fredericton, NB, and her nieces Rachel Toole of Melrose, NB, and Elizabeth Toole, of Whistler, BC.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Remembrances in Brigid's name may be made to the Grand Manan Whale and Seabird research station, the Grand Manan Swallowtail Keepers Society, the Grand Manan Museum, and VOW. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
