Obituary of Orville Richard Pond

Please share a memory of Orville to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Orville Richard Pond otherwise known as O.P., gramp, grampie O, oily, ouu ouu has sadly passed on July 6th surrounded by many loved ones.  Orville lived in Porter Cove NB until the last few years where he was at Central NB Nursing Home.

Born June 29, 1939. He was predeceased by his father Richard, mother Annabelle, uncle Dean, sister Peggy, step daughter Wendy and his lady Eva Fowler, with whom he spent many years loving and living life to the fullest with.

His career started in Ontario at the mines, then later was a game warden and he ended his career with FPL (Forest Protection Ltd).  He was a member of Landmark Lodge #51, and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 78.

He loved to fish, hunt, go to Fowler-Pond Lodge, throw darts, tinker in the shed (the man could Jimmy rig anything).  You could always find him on or by the river, or tending to their extraordinary garden.  He loved spending time with his step children and grandchildren and at times be seen with a cold beer or toddy!

Cheers to O.P. / Gramp and thanks for choosing us and loving us.  At Orville’s request there will be no viewing or service but for those who knew Orville please think of the good times or tip your glass or bottle to Old Cuff.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
