The family of Kathleen (Kaye) Marie (Bulger) Buckingham of St. John’s, Newfoundland, are saddened to announce her passing occurred on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 26, 1944, she was the daughter of late Jack and Mae (Nugent) Bulger.

Kaye was born and raised in the west end of St. John’s, Newfoundland, where she loved to go back every chance she had. Upon moving to Fredericton, she met and married the love of her life, Phil, 43 years ago and he was faithfully by her side until the very end. Kaye had the gift of gab, and could always find a Newfie to befriend no matter where she went. Her love for shopping and interior design helped them build many beautiful homes over the years, and was something she was so proud of. Surrounded by many loving friends, Kaye loved her people with all her heart. Her children and grandchildren were the most important people in her life and she made sure we all knew it.

Kaye is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Philip Buckingham; her daughter, Jodi O’Neill of Fredericton, sons, John Kavanagh (Sonya) of Fredericton and Ron Buckingham (Melissa) of Woodstock, daughter, Lori Monteith (Donnie) of Douglas; grandchildren, Kristina (Jeremy), Melissa, Tiffany, Brittany (Charlie), Shelby (Brandon), Nicholas (Keri), Corey, Makenna (Ayden), Jessica; great-grandchildren, Riley, Cameron, Charlie, Henry and Levi; siblings, Mary Corcoran (Joseph) of St. John’s and Shelia Power of St. John’s; special niece, Colleen (Don)  and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Kaye is predeceased by her brother, Johnny Bulger and special brother-in-law, Bruce Power.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 1 pm, followed by the Memorial Service at 2 pm.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Foundation - Palliative Care Unit. The family would like to give a special thank-you to our dear friend Kelly Little, staff on 4SW and Dr. Gordon MacDonald, for their wonderful care. Personal condolence may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
