Life has come full circle for Stephen Carl Christenson who passed peacefully with his daughters by his side at White Rapids Manor on Saturday June 17th, 2023.

Stephen was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on July 7, 1927. He was the son of the late William and Lillian Christenson.

Stephen was employed for 35 yrs by NB Power as a meter technician. At 14 yrs old he was sent to work on the trains for CN rail as a cook’s helper before moving to Fredericton.

He loved to take long drives (never returning home by same route). He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, fixing things. He loved to share his cooking and baking and was known for his date squares and mincemeat tarts. He loved to share his memories of travelling by train from Saint John to Point-du-Chene to spend summers with his Grandparents as a child, his working on the farm in Gagetown as a young boy, trips to the Marimichi and adventures with his brothers and sisters in Saint John. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Foresters Club and volunteered in many events at Lady of Fatima church over the years.

He is survived by his daughters Kathleen Toth (John), Mary Ellen Christenson (Greg Vallee), one son John Christenson (Rachel). 6 Grandchildren: Jessie Murray, Will, Micheal and Megan Toth and Samantha and Sarah Vallee. 8 Great Grandchildren: Tyler, David, Anna, Olivia, Saul, Ari, Cameron and Warren. One sister Willia Whittaker (Russel), one brother Tom Christenson (Eileen) and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 46 yrs Mary Eileen (Maroney), his parents William and Lillian (Mooney) Christenson, 3 brothers, William in infancy, Carl and George and one sister Kathleen Earle.

No visitation or funeral by family wishes at this time. A small service to be arranged at a later date.

A special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff at White Rapids Manor in Fredericton Junction where he spent his last 5 yrs and a special mention to Heather Toth for her many hours of care and driving him on his excursions when he was unable to drive, before moving to nursing home.
