Obituary of Anna Marie Sharpe

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our beloved Anna Marie Sharpe (Cogswell) of Jemseg on June 14th, 2023.

She will be lovingly remembered by Clinton, her husband of almost 41 years; her children, Krista Garnett (Adam) and Jason (Laurie); her grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas, Daniel, Isabelle, Rémi and Emma.

She is also survived by her mother, Jeannette Cogswell; mother-in-law, Dawn Sharpe; her brothers, Basil (Joan), David (Andréa) and Martin (Lynn); sister, Susan Anderson (Dean), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and by the Sharpe clan, Steven (Leah), Brian (Pat), Allan (Carole), Robyn (Keith), Chris (June), Andy (Caroline), and many nieces and nephews on that side as well. She is also survived by her dearest childhood friend Kelly VanDolder (Bob) of Owen Sound.

She was predeceased by her father Ray.

Anna and Clinton lived in Maugerville for many years where they raised their family. In 2015-16, as Anna neared retirement, they worked side by side building their dream home in Jemseg.

Anna was born and raised in Fredericton. She was much loved by everyone who knew her. She touched many lives with her bubbly, fun loving personality and cheerful laughter. She retired from the insurance industry in 2019 after nearly 40 years as an insurance broker, where she built many lasting friendships. After moving to Jemseg, she became a member of the Jemseg and Area Volunteer Fire Department where she trained and became a level one firefighter. She had been a proud member of the Jemseg TOPS group for years. In addition to her family, Anna loved to travel, but she especially loved spending time at their cottage at Robertson’s Point, which later became their home. Anna loved all things blue, silver jewellery, Shania Twain, and dancing. She was a great cook and family and friends will long remember her homemade bread, strawberry glazed pies, blueberry tarts and annual Canada Day cake. She was also a talented painter, and she loved to gift her paintings to family and friends. Anna was very competitive, whether she was playing sports (softball and volleyball) or board games (cards, dominoes, etc.) which provided lots of laughter over the years.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the Extramural team for their tremendous support, and to everyone who reached out and provided helping hands during the last few years of Anna’s heartbreaking illness.
