It is with heavy hearts that the family of Nicola Portia (McGrath) Brooks of Fredericton, NB announces her passing on Sunday, June 11, 2023, after a brief illness. Nicola was born to the late Bert and Ruth (Lawrence) McGrath on June 9, 1950; she grew up in Knoxford, NB.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish beloved memories are her children, Kellie (Marc), Garth Green of Seattle, Washington and Jeremy (Stacey) Brooks of Fredericton. Nicola leaves behind seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Also left to remember good family times with love and laughter are her sister, Anita (Dave) Greenhalgh of Medford, Oregon and brother, Byron (Loretta) McGrath of Knoxford. Nicola was blessed with treasured in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.
In addition to her parents, Nicola was predeceased by her spouse, Rev. Keith Brooks and son, Danny Brooks.
The Memorial will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11 am. Interment will at 2:30 pm in the Lower Knoxford Cemetery, Knoxford, NB.
