Dear Pauline and family,
We were so saddened to hear of Leslie’s passing.
Leslie was always such a kind, gentle, happy man. Remember him as always having a smile on his face.
It was very special that you and Leslie stopped to visit us on your big trip out west.
The family/group photo that we got in 2018 becomes more precious as time goes by. Lots of love in those Saunders offspring!
Know that we are thinking of you all as you grieve this difficult loss.
Karen and Doug

We are so sorry for the loss of Les. We have great memories ourselves of him. One in particular that makes us all laugh, sometimes we may have hung out with this family and overstayed our welcome. The family was celebrating Les’s birthday at Brian and Kelly’s cottage when our boys were younger, and obviously we were there. They were about to take a picture with Les and his grandchildren and my boys got in the picture, as they assumed they were also his grandchildren!! That was the day they realized and told they were not. But the family still kept them in that picture or at least one!! We love hanging out with this family and have many memories with Les and everyone, always so welcoming and inclusive. His smile never stopped and that will be remembered forever!
Hugs to all of you.

Leslie was such an amazing kind hearted man. Growing up next to his amazing family was such a joy! Heather and Deanna babysat me when I was little. The best babysitters ever!! Brian was and still is best friends with my brother Mark. Pauline held a bridal shower for me from the neighborhood. I remember getting to visit a new litter of puppies they had. They let me hold the puppies for hours. The Ashfield family has such a special place in my heart and want to say thank you for your kindness to me growing up. Your family played a very important part in my childhood and I want to send my sincere condolences for the loss of your dad Leslie. He was an amazing man who passed that onto his kids very clearly. Here’s a picture of me at the Ashfield home as a little girl holding the litter of puppies. Thank you for the awesome memories❤️ With all my love! Shelley Keizer

My cousin Leslie was probably the reason that my parents George and Phyllis were so intent on my going to UNB and hopefully becoming a Civil Engineer which I did , class of ´73 . Leslie watched over me the whole time from the photo gallery in the engineering building to ensure that I didn’t stray .
Condolences to the family of a great guy .
