Troy, Chad and families,
I was shocked and saddened to learn (just tonight) of your Mom’s untimely passing.
I had lost touch with her after Nancy’s passing but knew her very well through Nancy (even long before I met your Mom). I must say that for someone I didn’t see very often, she left such a vivid impact on me. What a barrel of energy. I would often tease Nancy that she was the energizer bunny and she’d always say, wait till you meet Sonia.
We had spent some hours on the phone during Nancy’s illness.
We still think of Nancy often and recall how often she spoke of both of you so proudly.
Please, if you’re ever in PEI, look me up if you have time.

Sonia was a very special lady and I offer my deepest condolences to her family and friends. Sonia and I met when we were in grade 6 in Shannon Park. We went our own ways but were fortunate enough to reconnect on Facebook several years ago. We exchanged messages there and privately. In 2012, we were visiting in Prince Edward Island, and so were she and David. We met for lunch. It was so nice to see her. We kept in touch until the last year or so. It was with great sadness that I learned of her illness . My heart goes out to her family. Always a smile, always pleasant and ready to help. She made the world a better place. So sorry for your loss. She was a Beautiful Soul and a Rare find. No doubt about how much she loved and appreciated her family and wanted to be included in all she could be in. She has moved on from us here but she will be no time finding her own way where she has many more that love her. I want to express my sympathy. May God comfort and strengthen each of you during this sad and difficult time...and may He grant you His peace.
I'm part of the Moore family from PEI.
When Bill was a young man, he worked with my father in the woods...and then, later on, worked with my father and brothers at the sawmill and lumberyard. After he joined the Navy, he and Phyllis and "the girls" would spend some of Bill's furlough at our house in Hampshire/Loyalist Road, PEI. And so, I've known Sonja most of my (almost) 74 years. Once I got old enough and realized she was three and a half months older, I never missed an opportunity to tease her about being so OLD...lol....I considered her a good and faithful friend.
I was shocked and saddened to learn of her passing. I had chatted briefly with her mid-December '22 ...and called on her birthday and chatted with Jack.
I am unable to attend.
Please know that I will surround you in prayer.

I have known Sonja since literally Elementary School in Shannon Park. She was a wonderful young lady and even a more wonderful adult. I remember Sonja as a great friend and co- worker at Rothesay Elementary School. She was very dedicated to her job and was very kind to students assigned to her. She always said that having a break was boring and often came to my classroom to help me in any way I needed. My students loved her compassion and kindness and each wanted a turn to work with her, they especially liked her reading stories. I rarely saw Sonja without a smile. She will be missed by so many.

When Sonja and Dave (Whiting) lived in Yarmouth, we were great friends. We even belonged to a "dinner club"... 4 couples who went back and forth to each other's homes for dinner, once a month. Dave and my husband Chris got to know each other through municipal politics and Sonja and I soon became fast friends. I haven't seen her in a few years but have been terribly saddened by her passing. My condolences to Sonja's family and friends.
