SAVOY, ZEN DAMIAN (JUNIOR)

April 17, 1943 to April 9, 2023

Mr Zen Damian (Junior) Savoy from Murray Settlement, NB passed away on Sunday 9 April 2023 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by his loving family; and friend, Ronald.

Junior, originally from Chatham Head, NB, was well known around the Miramichi area, as everyone’s friend willing to chat over a cup of Timmies. He was an endearing friend, father, brother, husband, uncle, and grandfather who was a mechanic, a roofer and all-around jack of all trades who in his younger years, was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of a handyman.  Our earliest memories are encompassed with his desire to help others in need regardless of background, preference, or status.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Thibodeau) Savoy; son, Christopher Savoy (Paulette) of Murray Settlement, daughters, Brenda Morais (John) of Fredericton, Syrah Debby Savoy (Catherine) of Ottawa, Elaine Savoy (Ronald) of Collette and Carol Brideau (Michael) of Bellefond.

He is survived by his grandchildren and greatest joy whom he was both a grandfather and father figure, loved unconditionally, cherished, and forever remains in their hearts; Harmony Butler (Rebecca) of Miramichi, Cheyenne Savoy of Collette; and Branden Butler, grandson and cherished friend, also of Collette; Justin Richard of Ottawa, Angel Richard (Chris) of Pembroke. Junior is also survived by his great grandchildren, Winter and Zaylee who decorated his life, and his wheelchair, with colour and joy.

Junior is also survived by his brother, James Savoy (Linda) of Moncton; sisters, Mary Ferguson (Sterling) of St. John, Josephine (Nin) Landry (late Joey Landry) of Miramichi and Harriette Dooks (Peter) of Moncton who selflessly graced him with prayer and led him to peace.

Junior was predeceased by his parents, Adolph Joseph Savoy and Celeste (Babineau) Savoy; infant sister; his son, Kirby Taylor Savoy; sister, Alma McIntyre and brothers, Charles, Carl and Richard (Ricky).

At the request of Junior as well as the family, there will be no public visitation or service. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
