Obituary of Douglas James Carlisle

The peaceful passing of Douglas James Carlisle of Fredericton, NB, formerly from Keswick Ridge, NB, husband of Dianne Frances (Kilcup) Carlisle occurred on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at  Fredericton Hospice.  Born on September 21, 1950 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late H. Everett and Evelyn (Alison) Carlisle. Douglas was a jack of all trades; he worked as a farmer both for the orchard and dairy industry; loved long haul trucking and was a heavy equipment operator.  He also at one time was a volunteer firefighter.

 

In addition to his wife, Douglas is survived by sons, Ryan Carlisle (Krista), Garth Carlisle and Stephen Carlisle;  grandson,  Aedyn Carlisle;  brother, Allison Carlisle (Brenda); sister, Anne Arvidson (Ron); sister-in-law, Marilyn Carlisle (George Lawrence) and his nieces and nephews, Sheri Carlisle, Holly Moffitt, Tara Lach (Pete),  Alanna Green (Don Prosser) Katrina DeThomasis (Gino), Timothy Arvidson, Mary Ellen Etheridge (Roy), Joanna Adams (Troy) and Michael Carlisle (Candace).  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, David Carlisle.

 

The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 2 pm with Pastor Matthew Palmer officiating.  Interment will take place in Carlisle Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Fredericton Hospice (Palliative Care Resource Network Inc.).  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
