It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Herb DuPlessis of Fredericton, NB on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 11, 1962 in Montreal, QC to the late Beryl (Gillette) and Herbert DuPlessis Sr.

Herb leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Angela (Hicks); his cherished children, Amy and Noah (Haley); his beautiful granddaughter, Eleanor Shackleton; sisters, Michele (Billy) Anger and Ronnie (John) DuPlessis; brothers, Harvey (Sharon) Gillette and Lorne DuPlessis; uncles, Terry (Louise) Gillette, Charles (Pam) Gillette; aunts, Lorraine Byers, Lorna Foster and Cindy Busson (Emsley); his mother and father-in-law, Nancy and Robert Hicks; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and special nephew Bryce. Along with his parents, Herb is also predeceased by his brother, Johnny DuPlessis; niece, Natashia Anger; grandparents, Irene (Gerow) and Lorne Gillette; two uncles Ted and Bobby Gillette, and his beloved fur baby Baloo.

Herb joined the military at the young age of 18, and served with the 2RCR out of Base Gagetown. After the military Herb followed in his fathers’ footsteps to become a professional window cleaner. Herb later formed his own window cleaning company, New York Window Cleaning Fredericton Division, before furthering his education and joining the Atlantic Canada Regional Carpenters Union and the Alberta Regional Council of Carpenters where he worked in Fort McMurray for a number of years.

Herb’s life revolved around his family and he loved to travel and spend time with his wife, kids and granddaughter. He was a lifelong Blue Jay’s fan and enjoyed getting together with friends to tell stories and jokes.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 2-4 pm.  The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2 pm with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fredericton SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
