Obituary of Gertrude Margaret Harris

The passing of Gertrude “Gertie” Margaret Harris, wife of the late Clifford Harris, occurred on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at York Care Centre.  Born on December 23, 1931 in Millville, NB, she was the oldest daughter of the late Roscoe and Marion (Knox) Clark. She was a member of the Church of The Nazarene and the Nashwaak Women’s Institute.  Her greatest joys in life, were her family who she loved passionately, and the time she spent with them; she also enjoyed her weekly MacDonald’s coffee, and most importantly her relationship with her Lord.

Gertrude is survived by her devoted daughter, Angela Everett of Nashwaak Village, NB; grandsons, Drake (at home) and Brayden of Quebec City; sister, Shirley Vanwart (Gordon) of Quispamsis, NB; brother, Ellis Clark (Anne) of Richmond, QC; sisters in law, Alison and Gloria Clark; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Andy Cartledge, who was also her care giver along side her daughter. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant son, Dale Keith; sister, Marilyn Carr; brothers, Harley Clark and Eldon “Buddy” Clark.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the care staff of York Care Centre Tower 2, for their love and compassion given to “Gertie” and her family.

There will be a Graveside Service in Centennial United Church Cemetery, Nashwaak Village, NB on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 2 pm with Pastor Janice Queale officiating.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Celiac Association or the Centennial United Church Cemetery Fund.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
