The passing of Clayton Ronald Gray of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Elizabeth Annie (Hanson) Gray occurred on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was born on May 7, 1926 in Bristol, NB, to the late Clifford and Pauline (Campbell) Gray. Following his father's passing, Pauline married Harold Stairs, the man Clayton would know as Dad. Clayton left school early and eventually became a Barber, was employed at Fox's Barber Shop where he later became co-owner. He was a member of St. Mary's Anglican Church. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife, Elizabeth. Clayton liked to travel all over North America, but especially loved the time spent with his trailer at Grand Lake. Clayton will be remembered for his sense of humour, ability to connect with anyone, and his unconditional love for his friends and family, he was an excellent listener and loved spending time with his family.
Clayton is survived by sons, Rick Gray (Rosalyn) and Gary Gray (Cami); grandchildren, Zachary Gray, Vanessa Gray (Jason Richard), Birgitta Gray, Andrew Gray, Cody Gray (Brandy), Daneson Gray (Stephney) and Ethan Gray; great grandchildren, Xander, Eli, Dominic, Peyton and Violet; siblings, Wilda Pond (Buddy),Walter Stairs (Marilyn), Geraldine Stairs and Joyce Rowlands; special friend, Shirley Estey; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, parents and step father, Harold Stairs, he was predeceased by his brother, Maylin Stairs.
The Funeral Service will take place at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 780 McEvoy Street, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11 am with The Ven. Kevin Stockall officiating, Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery, Fredericton, NB; followed by a reception at the church.
