Obituary of Joan Ann Bye

 

With great sadness, the family of Joan Bye, wife of Glen Bye of Fredericton, NB announces her passing on February 16, 2023 at Fredericton Hospice House.  Born on April 1, 1933 in Belleville, Ontario she was the daughter of the late William and Phoebe (Saunders) Keegan.

Joan is survived by her 5 children, Gordon Bye (Ann) of Fredericton, Jerry Bye (Kim) of Ontario, Michael Bye of Ontario, Wayne Bye (Marise) of Fredericton, and Laura Bye of Fredericton; 9 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; her sisters, Jean Larouche, Donna Allin, Phoebe Cain, Edith Kosmack; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Glen; brothers, Charles and William (Billy); and grandson, Christopher.

She was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed bowling, playing crib, doing puzzles, and loved to knit. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Joan will be lovingly remembered by her family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Your life was a blessing and your memory a treasure. We miss you and love you always.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes there will be no visitation; a private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
