Obituary of Nina Mae King

The passing of Nina Mae King of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Cecil King occurred on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at York Care Centre.  Born on March 27, 1934 in Caverhill, NB, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna (Grant) Harris.  Nina was a member of Journey Wesleyan Church, and volunteer at York Care Centre.  She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading and cooking. 

Nina is survived by her children, Anne MacNeill (Vernon), Alan King (Joyce), Roger King (Wendy), Stephen King (Christine), Mark King (Ann Marie), Blair King (Anne), Jeffrey King (Charline) and Sara Rollins (Tony); 25 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; three great great granddaughters; sisters, Betty Fox and Sharon Moore (Gary); brothers, Eldon Harris (Maxine), William Harris and James Harris; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Nina was predeceased by her infant children, John and Joanne; two grandchildren, Richie and Rick; sister, Nelma McLean; brothers, Lawrence Harris, Ondon Harris and Marlo Fox; son in law, John MacNeill.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 2-4 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 6 pm with Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating.  Interment will take place in Lower Hainesville Cemetery in the spring.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Lower Hainesville Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
