Obituary of Elaine Fay Jones

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Elaine Fay Jones on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  She was born on January 28, 1954 in Sussex, NB, the daughter of the late Earl and Fay (Kierstead) Jones. 

Elaine was a very kind, caring person who was generous to a fault and would help anyone. Elaine worked for Service New Brunswick and enjoyed the people she worked with.  She previously worked for Wilson Builders, Willett Foods and earlier in life with Paul Burden Limited. Elaine always made an impact on the people she met. 

She had many hobbies and interests, including painting, crafts, knitting, flower gardening, golfing, and travelling (Ireland, New York City, Hawaii and all ten provinces and several states).  Elaine especially loved her summers at Sunnyside Beach, Grand Lake with Andrew and Debbie.  

Elaine is survived by her sisters, Bonnie Daigle and Deborah Connolly (Andrew the brother she never had); special uncle, Carl Kierstead (Jill); and the loves of her life, her nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Forbes (Kerrod), Rebecca Connolly, Jonathan Connolly (Maggie Zinck) and Stephen Connolly; her new joys, great niece, Nieve Forbes and great nephew, Evan Connolly; she had many cousins, but she was very close to Cathy Bates, Lisa Kierstead, Margie Carpenter, Joanne Jones and Bradley Kierstead; Elaine had many great friends that were like family to her.  She also leaves her fur baby, Percy the cat.  In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by several special uncles, aunts, cousins, and member of the O’Naughty’s, Jane LeBlanc.

The family will receive visitors at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 2-5 pm.  A Private Service and Interment will take place for family and friends at a later date.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton Homeless Shelter, Fredericton Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh
