Elizabeth Jane Hogg (August. 31, 1929- December.14, 2022)

Elizabeth Jane (Stevenson) Hogg passed away peacefully on December 14th, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She immigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1968 with her husband, William, and daughter, Susan, settling in Orillia, Ontario before moving to Nova Scotia in 1972.

She is survived by her daughter Susan (John) Swanwick; grandchildren Brittany Swanwick (Joshua English) and Jordan Swanwick of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law Joan Hogg of Wales, UK; nephew Gary Woodsell (Diane); and niece Lynn (Todd) of Scotland.

She was predeceased by her husband, William James (Bill); brother Joseph; mother Agnes Woodsell; step-father Albert Woodsell; and brother-in-law Ian Hogg.

A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, Elizabeth (Betty) will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She spent the twilight years of her life in the company of those closest to her, and cherished every moment spent with them and their pets. A proud Scot, Betty loved sharing her Scottish history, and took great pride in telling stories of her time at the school for young ladies in Scotland. A true lady, she maintained her elegance and proper manners her entire life, always adorning herself with beautiful jewelry and her treasured pearl necklace. Her grace, warmth, and kind-hearted nature will be sorely missed. She will always be in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place, no visitation by the request of the family. Burial will be held in Paisley, Scotland beside her husband. Donations in her memory may be made to the Fredericton SPCA.
