Obituary of Judith Mary Cormier

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Absent from the body, present with the Lord, Judith “Judi” (Doohan) Cormier passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born in Toronto, ON, she moved with her family to Nova Scotia as a small child where she formed many life long friendships.  As a teen she moved to Fredericton where she graduated from FHS, married and raised her children.  When her children were in school, she attended ABC and worked at the DECH for over 20 years, taking early retirement to help look after her aging parents.

Through out her life Judi spent many hours volunteering with her church, playing piano, organ, teaching Sunday School and helping in Awana.  She was always there to lend a helping hand.

Judi was predeceased by her parents, Rev. James and Lillian Doohan; her beloved little sister, Linda Powers.

Survived by her husband, Roger Cormier; son, Tim Laagland (Deborah); daughter, Heather Robichaud (Rick); grandson, Andrew Laagland (Sasha); granddaughter, Eden Robichaud; great grandson, Hunter Laagland; brothers, John Doohan (Ruth) and Pat Doohan (Joanne); dear brother and sister in law, John and Connie Laagland.

In keeping with Judi’s wishes there will be no visitation of service.  A Private Family Interment will take place in Hanwell Presbyterian Cemetery officiated by Rev. Terry Woodcock.  Pallbearers for the service will be Tim Laagland, Andrew Laagland, John Laagland, Jason Laagland, Jonathan Laagland and Rick Robichaud.  For those who wish, donations may be made to the Devon Park Baptist Church or to CARMA.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
