Obituary of Lena Grace O'Donnell

With great sadness, the family announce the peaceful passing of Lena Grace O’Donnell of McNamee, NB, wife of the late Ramsey O’Donnell on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB.  Born in Doaktown, NB on June 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Annie (Betts) Morehouse.  Lena graduated from the Provincial Normal School in Fredericton, and began a teaching career which lasted for almost 30 years.  She was a member of Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church.  She loved and cherishes every cat that she owned and her flower garden. She loved to knit and quilt. Lena was very active and lived a very full life.

Lena is survived by her children, Orland O’Donnell (Judy) of Blackville, Viola O’Donnell of Fredericton and Michael O’Donnell (Roxanne) of Nelson Hollow; grandchildren, Heather, Andrew (Kelly), Stephen (Becky), Jill (Jeremy), Kevin (Lacey), Lisa (Tommy), Nick (Lyn) and Adam (Chelsie); 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Marina O’Donnell (Darrell) of McNamee.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Sarah; daughter-in-law, Kathe; sister, Bertha; and niece, Krystal.

Masks are required at the family’s direction. Visitation will take place at Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  The Funeral Service will take place at Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11 am with Rev. Roger Mitchell officiating.  Interment will take place in the church cemetery following the service.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Cemetery.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
