Obituary of Eloise Harding

Please share a memory of Eloise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The passing of J. Eloise Harding, beloved wife of the late Vernon T. Harding occurred on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at York Care Centre.  Eloise was the daughter of the late David and Estella (Marr) Haworth of Quispamsis, NB.

Eloise was affiliated with St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Nashwaaksis. She was formerly associated with St. Mary’s Parish, Devon, NB and a member of their Talent Chapter and a Sunday School teacher.  In the community of Estey’s Bridge, she was a member of the Kinsley Ladies Aid, Kingsley Silver Top Seniors and St. Margaret’s Coffee Club.

Eloise enjoyed her home and friends.  She raised her husband and children with humour and love.  Her good nature and laughing personality enhanced her work of many years as a School Secretary at George Street Junior High School and Fredericton High School. While the family lived in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Eloise was a volunteer at a school for the disabled.

Eloise is survived by her sons, David Harding of Fort McMurray, AB and Bruce Harding (Gemma) of Ottawa, ON; daughters, Gwen Harding of Ottawa, ON and Karen Stephens (Gary) of Keswick Ridge, NB; ten grandchildren, Melissa, Mark, Joel, Eric, Isaac, Joseph, Katie, Megan, Amanda and Kristen; eight great grandchildren, Layla, Amina, Mahailya, Solomon, Nyah, Hannah, Rose and Emilia; and several nieces and nephews.

Eloise was predeceased by her sisters, Frances Herrington (Elmer) and Elise Chamberlain (Donald) both of Saint John, NB; and great grandson, Lucas Jason Martin of Fort McMurray, AB.

Please join us for a time of visitation at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 6-8 pm.  A Celebration of Eloise’s Life will take place at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Ranson officiating.  Interment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the St. John the Evangelist Church Building Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
