Obituary of Patricia Alice Flemming

The passing of Patricia “Patty” Alice Flemming of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Arthur Flemming, occurred on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Windsor Court Retirement Residence.  Born on March 17, 1931 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Bradstreet and Josephine (Murray) Tompkins. Patty worked as a reporter for many years at the Daily Gleaner. She was an incredible writer and storyteller. She was involved in many community groups including IODE, St. Andrew’s Society, Fredericton Historical Society, SPCA and Girl Guides. Patty loved photography, children and animals.

Patty is survived by her daughter, Patricia Flemming-LeFort (Achille); grandchildren, Adriana and Brandon; siblings, Mildred Karrsoo, Helen Waddell, Charles Tompkins and Mary Fontenot.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, John Flemming; siblings, Pauline Hodgson, Dorothy Ann McAllan, Brad Tompkins and John Tompkins.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 1-2 pm.  A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 2 pm with Pastor Chris Walker officiating.  Interment will be in Lower Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln at a later date.
