Obituary of Anita Marie Jones

Please share a memory of Anita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Anita Marie (Lawrence) Jones of Fredericton, NB, on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Wife of Garnet Jones, Anita was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and community member. We invite you to remember her for her incredible selflessness, compassion and endless patience. Anita was an exceptional listener, and she had the unique ability to always find the right words to say. Those close to her know that her capacity for loving was unlimited, and her passing will leave a great hole in the lives of those she touched. Anita would want us to continue living by her example, and we know that she continues to watch over us from Heaven.

Born on March 30, 1943 in Zealand, NB, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Helen (Brewer) Lawrence. In addition to her husband, Anita is survived by her children, Karen Bears (Darcy) of Bridgewater, NS and Kevin Jones (Courtney) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Ben, Tyson, Sebastian, Rhys and Quinn; brother, Laurel Lawrence (Ruth); sister in law, Donna Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her brothers, Merlin and Lyman Lawrence.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 6-8 pm.  The Funeral Service will take place from The Drive Baptist Church, 150 Greenwood Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating.  A Private Family Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Drive Baptist Church (Mortgage Fund) or to a charity of the donor's choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
