It is with great love and sadness that the family of Robert Anthony Pond Jr wishes to announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the age of 60 years after a courageous battle with cancer.

Robert leaves behind his chosen family, Joshawa, Leah and Elim Johnstone and is survived by his mother, Bonita Alberta Pond; his brothers, John (Kim) Pond, Digger (Heather) Pond; his sisters, Stephanie (Dave) Snow,  Jean (Don) Malloy, Patricia Doucette (John), Carol, Sheila (William) Robertson, Angela; his nieces, Jessica (Sam), Sarah, Jenna (Cheyane), Rachael (Travis), Alexandra (Karsen), Shannon (Jeremy); his nephews, William (Chantelle), Jason (Rose), Gerald, Travis, Joshua, Brian, Jason (Marsha), Dan (Beth), Cory (Ashley), Brandon, Joel (Kristen); and his many great nieces and nephews.

Robert was predeceased by his father, Robert Allison Pond; and his brother, Christopher Trent Pond.

Robert was an active member in the LGBTQ community and he was very proud of who he was.

Robert will be remembered for his courage and his kind and giving soul.  He loved meeting people and giving to those in need.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff at Foyer Lacombe in St. Albert, Edmonton, Alberta for their care of Robert over his last two weeks.

Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating. The service will be available via Livestream by registering on the funeral home website. Interment will be in Lower Durham Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to the Upper and Lower Durham Temperance Union of Churches or the Centennial United Church.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
