Obituary of Phyllis Marie Storey

The Storey Family wishes to announce the passing of Phyllis Marie Storey on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at York Care Centre, Fredericton, NB.  Phyllis passed peacefully, surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. Phyllis was born on the 14th day of May 1935 to Winston and Edith O’Donnell, she was the eldest of 10.

At the age of 18, Phyllis left her home and tiny community of Storeytown with her new husband Eldon for a very large adventure. They traveled over 2300 kms to another country where Eldon served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. I’m sure she felt like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, this isn’t Kansas. Phyllis always spoke very fondly of her life in the southern United States, she loved her time there immensely and they visited many times over the rest of her life, until her health prevented her from traveling. Phyllis' greatest passion was family.

Phyllis is survived by her son, her daughter, Stephanie (Shawn); son-in-law, Dale; eight grandchildren, Shari, Denise, Jason, Evan, Brady, Laura, Kara and Emily; several great and great great grandchildren. Phyllis is also survived by four siblings, Thelma, Holland, Bun and Elaine.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Eldon of 49 years; three children, Christopher, Kevin and Karen. Phyllis also lost two children during pregnancy. She was also predeceased by siblings, Georgina, AnnaMae, Zelda, Linda and James.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and amazing staff at York Care for the attentive and gentle care mother received while she lived there.
