Please share a memory of Sadie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sadie Jane (Reynolds) Burtt August 6, 1927 – October 29, 2022

Sadie was born in Hainesville, (Green Hill Lake) NB and grew up on a dairy farm. She was married for 73 years to her best friend and soul mate Ralph. They built their home in Nashwaaksis and lived there for 65 years. Her’s was the home to come to. The door was always open, regardless, who straggled through it.

She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxilary, the Ladies Anglican Church Guild and volunteered at York Manor for many years. Her life was filled with her gift of giving. To say the least, Sadie was crafty. Her quilts are a marvel, she was an accomplished seamstress after a tenure at the Playhouse. Many enjoyed her creations from bridal gowns to alterations of that favourite piece of clothing. She loved to knit, crochet, embroider and whatever else was popular at the time. Sadie was also an avid gardener. The fruits of which were canned, processed and stored each season. She was always busy. Moss didn’t grow beneath her feet.Sadie had an infectious giggle. She had a look that would stop a train and a husband behind as backup backup. Sadie loved her friends and family.

She will be missed by her two daughters, Sheila and Frances (Doug) Seely; Grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Krill, Natalie Krill and Emily (Dillon Scott) Seely; Great Grandchildren, Colton and Jorgia; brother Andrew Reynolds, sister-in-law Elenora Reynolds, Darrell (Angie) Estey and family, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Sadie is predeceased by her husband Ralph; parents Mossie (Langil) and James A Reynolds; sisters, Anne (Albert) Houghton, Mary (Harold) Hanson, Benjamin and Howard Reynolds, all of Ralph’s siblings, their spouses and a number of nieces and nephews.

Sadie’s family wish to thank the many in-home caregivers who have graced her doors, Dr. Irrinki and staff, all the Angels who work at York Care Centre and the Veterans Health Unit, friends, family and many others who have made her life special.
