Obituary of Heather Ann Leary
The passing of Heather Ann Leary of Cross Creek, NB, wife of Gordon Leary, occurred on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 31, 1950 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Zena (Lahey) Sherrard. Heather was a member of Nashwaak Valley Pentecostal Church. Heather and Gordon both graduated from World Impact Bible Institute in 2000; following this they established two churches and together provided pastoral care.
Heather was a Beaver Leader and worked as a coordinator for the Saint John Ambulance. She also had a love for camping with the “Good Sam Club”, shopping, cooking, reading, playing games on her tablet, knitting and going for drives.
In addition to her husband, Heather is survived by her children, Joe Baker (Chastity) and Jason Leary; and was also a mother to many others along the way. Besides her parents, Heather was predeceased by her brother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation will take place at Nashwaak Valley Pentecostal Church, 2265 Route 148, Taymouth on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 7-9 pm and on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 12 – 2 pm; followed by the Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Mike Trail officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John, NB on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1 pm. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Nashwaak Valley Pentecostal Church, New Brunswick Lung Association, Stanley Fire Department or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
