I met Ab in early 1984 as a young Ocdt awaiting pilot training in the RCAF. I was sent to 414Sqn Det in Ottawa where they flew the T-33. Ab was my boss. His energy and leadership left a lasting impression that I will never forget. My real first exposure to the RCAF ( all prior training was generic CF ) was under him and it was a very fond 10 months before I was sent to off to begin my adventure.
I am saddened to read of his passing just today and pass along my sincere condolences to the family.
Respectfully Captain Anthony Snieder ( retired)

Cheryl and I offer our condolences to both Karen and Darren. We first met Ab and Jeannie in the Middle East in the early 90's when Ab and I served together with the UN on the Golan Heights. During our 2 years we were both based in Jerusalem, Tiberius and Damascus. Following our UN service, we met again on Vancouver Island and in retirement we spent many happy moments visiting with each other. Following Jean's passing (RIP), we caught up with Ab at his home in Fredricton. We enjoyed a good day together, chatting about old times. We said our good-byes but kept in touch via emails. Ab and Jean were both good friends. Jean is missed and Ab will be missed. Please accept our condolences! (RIP!) Jerry & Cheryl Gautreau - Vernon BC.

Our condolences Karen & Darren. We spent many hours with Jean & Ab in Moose Jaw and Germany and always enjoyed their company. Your father had a wonderful sense of humour and he had a special way of brightening up any room that he happened to be in.
So sorry we lost him so soon,
Ed & Marg McGillivray
