Obituary of Ruth Isabel Brewer

Ruth, (Mum, Nana, Nannie and most recently Ruthie) Brewer, of York Care Center and formerly of Burtt’s Corner, passed October 9, 2022 at the age of 97. 

Ruth will be lovingly remembered for her generous and kind nature and even her occasional endearing stubbornness. Ruth’s was a life well lived.  Her beliefs were strong and she had an unwavering faith in God.  Ruth, the family matriarch was dearly loved by family and friends alike.  She was always ready to put the kettle on for a cup of tea and a visit.  She will be greatly missed but has left us with many cherished memories.  

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Ed, eldest son, David, grandson, Eddie and Harry the cat.  Ruth is survived by her sons, Tom (Wendy) and Richard (Andrea); grandchildren, Trevor (Christa), Todd (Kristi), Thomasina and their mother Rena and Denise and her mother Sherry, Andrew and Kathryn; great grandchildren Tanaya (Andrew), Sam, Kenzie, Keagen, Thomas, Timothy, Westin and Shayla; and her great grandson Toretto as well as special family member Wendy Jewett.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of York Care Centre, Tower 3 for their love, support and never-ending care of Ruth. She loved you all.

Visitation will take place at Burtt’s Corner Baptist Church, 1034 Route 104, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  The funeral will take place at Burtt's Corner Baptist Church, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Wellwood officiating.  Interment will take place in Burtt’s Corner Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Burtt's Corner Baptist Church, SPCA Fredericton or the Burtt's Corner Community Cemetery.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
