Dementia is a thief who steals away the mind and body of those we love.

We sadly announce the death of Carol Ann Buckley (d.o.b. April 16, 1951) which occurred at Frederick Hall, Shannex on April 12, 2024. Carol was the youngest daughter of Donald and Kathleen (Clark) Jackson.

Carol is survived by her brother James and his wife Rose-Marie and sister Dawna Gordon (late Albert). She is also survived by step children Mark (Tanya) and Lisa and their families as well as many nieces and nephews.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, her husband Edison as well as five half brothers and sisters from her mother’s first marriage.

Carol was employed for many years as a cook at Mactaquac Park Lodge and the Hilltop Pub. She then enrolled in Technical School in Moncton and became a licensed barber and opened her own business, Sugar Island Barber Shop which she operated until her retirement.

Carol loved to play cribbage and she and her friend Marion spent many hours playing the game, drinking coffee and enjoying each other’s company.

As per Carol’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private committal service will be held at a later date where Carol and Edison will both be laid to rest.
