BELYEA, LAWRENCE RONALD “LARRY”

The passing of Lawrence "Larry" Ronald Belyea of Fredericton, NB occurred peacefully at home on Sunday, April 7, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Lorna Mae (Amos) Belyea. Born on October 18, 1947, in McAdam, NB, he was the son of the late Ronald Emery Belyea and the late Marjorie Virginia (Downing) Morton. Larry was a carpenter by trade, he worked at UNB in the Physical Plant for 30 years. He was a dedicated long-standing member and president of the Marysville Branch #15 Legion, as well as Capital District Commander. He was proudly involved in various programs including Remembrance Day ceremonies. He devoted a lot of time and enjoyed it very much. Larry's biggest joy aside from his family, were his trips to the camp at Big Hole Brook, Storeytown, NB. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, entertaining, cooking, and just sitting around telling stories. Larry had many stories to tell and could remember just about anything. He enjoyed getting a chuckle from people with his humour, and always had a joke to tell. Larry was an avid cribbage player, travelling through Canada for tournaments, evenings at the legion or sitting around the kitchen table, cribbage was one of his favourite pastimes. He enjoyed getting out for breakfast, especially with family or friends.

Larry is survived by his four daughters, Lisa DeWolfe (Terry) of Kingsley, Leanna Belyea (Jeffrey) of Marysville, Lori (Corey) of Nashwaak Bridge and Lynsey (Ben) of Penniac; grandchildren, Kevin and Braden DeWolfe, Joshua Belyea, Erin and Sara Belyea, Owen Weaver, Gracey Mae and Mason Pollock; step-sister, Nancy Stever (Bob) of Marysville; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Larry had many friends over the years.

Larry is predeceased by his sister, Marguerite Belyea; step-father, Kenneth Morton; step-brother, Edward Morton; son-in-law, Hal Peterson; step-nephew, Robie Stever; several aunts, uncles, cousins and special life-long friend, Eldon Storey.

As per Larry's wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service held. A Graveside Service will take place at the Marysville United Baptist Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donors' choice.
