Please share a memory of Bill to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

BOIES, William Darren

The passing of William “Bill” Darren Boies of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on October 13, 1962 in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of Beatrice (Munn) Boies and the late James Boies.

Bill worked as a Health Care Worker at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for several years. In Bill’s 30-year career he made many long-lasting friendships and was well respected among his co-workers. He was a die-hard Boston Bruins fan, having traveled to Boston with friends many times to see his favorite team in person. His other interests included listening to music as well as organizing the staff hockey pool at the DECH for several years.

In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by his siblings, Bev Boies (Nancy), Royce Boies (Wendy) and Lisa Embleton (Daryl); special sister-in-law, Ann (Underhill) Boies; and eight nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, Bill was predeceased by his brother, Ricky Boies; and niece, Callie Ann Embleton. The family would like to thank the staff of the Oncology and Palliative Care Departments and all Bill’s friends and co workers at the DECH for all their support.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 12- 2 pm; followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Lester Mitchell officiating.
