It is with heavy hearts the family of Robert “Bob” Dalton White announces his passing on Saturday, March 16, 2024.  Bob was born on June 10, 1941 to the late Robert and Gwendlyn (Dalton) White.  He leaves behind his wife, Shelly; his brother, Eric White; sister, Cindy (Fraser) Manzer; nieces, Holly (Rod) Doyle and Erika (Jason) Creally; nephews, Justin (Serena) Manzer and Jason (Stephanie) White; and 12 great nieces and nephews; best friend, Angus Carrier; friends, Tanya and Gerald Ladds; and buddies, Chris, Trevor and Derek Dalton.

Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Gayle White.

Bob grew up in the railway Village of Napadogan (CN Railway Terminal between Moncton and Edmundston). In his younger years Bob excelled in many sports such as hockey and softball.  He also loved to fish with his father and best friend Angus Carrier.  Following the Blue Jays was his passion and continued to watch the games throughout his life.

Bob worked his entire career in the Steel Fabrication business.  He worked at Ocean Steel in Saint John then moved to a steel shop in Binghamton, New York then returned to work at York Structural Steel in Fredericton, retiring after 46 years in the business.  Bob was the only employee who worked at all three Irving’s Steel Fabrication Shops.

As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there is no visitation or service.  A Graveside burial will take place at a later date at the Hermitage Cemetery on the Woodstock Road.  Bob loved animals and was known for taking in and feeding cats.  Donations can be made to CARMA (Cat Rescue Maritimes) Fredericton Chapter or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com

The family wishes to thank the Staff of Bayshore Home Health Care, particularly Veronique Dumais who has remained a big presence in his life, the staff at the Oromocto Hospital and Shannex (Medley Hall) for his care.

"He will be greatly missed as he was loved by so many"
