My sincere condolences to the family. I spent many summers with the Bowlen family and Charlie was always so great with all of us kids, then teens. He took us boating every weekend, had a great deal of patience with me as I learned to water ski behind his boat. Staci and I also spent many weekends working Charlie's catering truck as various Ball Fields around town.
It was always so much fun having Charlie around. Quite a jokester! Sending love and hugs to all.
Love Marilee

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Charlie Bowlen.
Even though we haven’t seen or spoken to Charlie for a number of years, we knew that the next time we’d meet, he’d probably pick up on our last conversation right where we left off and never miss a beat. That was Charlie!
As we were reading Charlie’s obituary, we couldn’t help but notice the large number of people that will miss Charlie, that comes as no surprise, everyone loved Charlie and Charlie loved them right back.
Gaynell, and your family, Wilma and your family, you will be in our daily thoughts and prayers today and in the days to come.
RIP Charlie, you made us all proud to have known you.
God bless, Jack and Rika Johnston, Oakville, Ontario

We were so sorry to hear about Charles passing so suddenly. We have very fond memories of his sense of humour. Our mum often spoke of cooking baked beans and brown bread for Charles and Terry’s lunch at the store so many years ago. Thinking of all the Bowlens at this time.

Our deepest and sincerest condolences to the Bowlen family.
There was never a time when there was not a smile on Charlie’s face or a laugh coming from his mouth.
Charlie’s obituary photo is the perfect example. Look at that Charlie smile and you can just hear his unforgettable laugh.
One of our most treasured memories of Charlie is of him and Harry plowing Annie’s driveway, about 40 years ago, with a case of beer sitting on the seat between the two of them. They were having the time of their life.
Charlie gave us so many pleasant memories over the years at family gatherings, weddings, funerals, reunions and around town whether it was catering from his famous truck or at events, plowing snow, cutting grass, painting, driving taxi, bowling, playing hockey, yelling a “Hi” out the car window or … coming out of the Devon liquor store … :o)
We are unable to attend the visitation and funeral but will see you on the 22nd.
