Obituary of Dawn Dorcas

The passing of Dawn Anita Dorcas of Lincoln, NB, wife of Alvin Dorcas occurred on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on January 23, 1935 in Chipman, NB, she was the daughter of the late Douglas “William” and Bernice (Morton) Pringle. Dawn retired as a Circulation Cashier at the Daily Gleaner. She was a member of the Wesley United Church, Lincoln, NB. In addition to her husband, Alvin, she is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Harris (Wendell) of Tracy, NB; son, Brett Dorcas (Linda) of Nasonworth, NB; grandchildren, Melanie, Nathen, Mitchell and Brad; great granddaughter, Gracie Lynn Harris; sisters, Sylvia Smith of Ottawa, ON and Greta Bruce (John) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother, James L. Pringle. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Wesley United Church, Lincoln, NB on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. Honourary Pallbearers will be Dawn’s grandchildren. Interment will take place at the Williamsburg Community Cemetery, Williamsburg, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
