Obituary of Anita Cormier

With family by her side, the passing of Anita Mary Cormier of Fredericton, NB, wife of Edgar Cormier occurred on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on October 30, 1935 in Chatham, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Theresa (Gautreau) Richardson. She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. Anita’s main concern in life was her family. She enjoyed playing guitar, singing and composing family songs, with her husband. She also enjoyed square dancing and clogging. In addition to her husband of 56 years, Anita is survived by her sons, Kenneth, Leonard (Sharon) and Donald all of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Sylvia Riley of Alberta and Regina Hanna (Chris) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Andrew, Shawn, Melissa and Donald “DJ” Cormier, Monica Kirk (Patrick), David Riley (Lacey) and their father, Mark, Adam, Joe and Maria Hanna; great-grandchildren, Dillan and Noah Riley, and Mea Hanna-Sedge; sisters; Theresa Savoie (Raoul), Kathleen Richardson, Olive Robichaud, Joan Richardson, Bernadette Richard (Oliver), Patricia Ann Robichaud (Stephen); brothers, Eugene Richardson, Edward Richardson (Marg Dawson), Ronald Richardson, Richard Richardson (Aurelda) and Daniel Richardson; sister-in-law, Julie Richardson; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her daughter, Theresa; sisters, Regina Richardson and Ann Marie Richardson, brothers; Albert Richardson and Arthur Richardson and sister-in-law, Rose Richardson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be her son and grandchildren. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank the Doctor’s and Nurses of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, 4NW and 3 East and also the Homecare Workers for their special care of Anita.
