Obituary of James Andrew Dillon
James “Jim” Andrew Dillon, born April 13, 1947, in Shirley Settlement, New Brunswick. He was the son of the late Mary Morehouse and Andrew William Dillon.
As a boy, Jim moved to Zealand, New Brunswick and went to high school at Keswick Valley Memorial High School, where he found the love of his life in Marysville, Sheila Faith Johnson Dillon. Married in Marysville, November 4, 1967, Jim and Sheila had many adventures in 58 years of marriage.
Jim worked for and loved the Fredericton fire department for 35 years. Jim was loved by his crews that worked with him and he loved them. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and loved taking others out to enjoy Gods creation. Hunting fishing or having a cookout over an open fire Jim didn't care as long as he was outdoors in the woods over in the Dungarvon or up Napadogen. With the love of his life Sheila, dad and mom served their lord and savior Jesus Christ. They actively supported their church Marysville Baptist and worked tirelessly to show love and kindness to everyone.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sheila; mother-in-law, Mae Johnson; two children, Krista Lynn Dillon MacKinlay (Carl), and James Bradley Dillon (Becky); grandchildren, Kaylee Dillon (Richard LeClerc), Jacob Dillon (Maddy), Dylan MacKinlay (Ariane), Emma MacKinlay (Jonathan Rodriguez); great grandson, James Charley Dillon; brothers, Ray Dillon and Andrew Dillon (Bev); sister-in-law, Marilyn Dillon.
He was predeceased by brother, Kenny Dillon and sister-in-law Doreen Dillon.
The family of Jim would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Extra-Mural staff, as well as to the doctors who provided exceptional care and support. Special thanks to Dr. O’Brien, Dr. MacDonald, Dr. Binedell, and Nurse Practitioner Rachel Gallagher for their dedication and kindness.
